small-mango-wood-halo-angel-white-enamel
Small Mango Wood Halo Angel - White Enamel

A small white angel cut from mango wood, her outline open at the centre so light and wall show through the silhouette. A twist of natural jute twine is tied at her neck with two small wooden beads, a simple, unfussy detail that gives a quiet shelf a soft point of focus.

What you'll notice

The shape is a clean, minimalist outline: rounded halo, softly curved wings and a long, flared gown, with the middle left open rather than filled in.

A soft white enamel covers the surface, with warm wood showing at the edges where the finish thins, so the colour reads as a gentle contrast rather than a flat block.

The jute bow and two small brown beads bring a natural, rustic texture against the smooth white.

Because the body is open, it casts a lightly layered shadow when it stands against a wall or window.

Mango wood and white enamel

The angel is made from mango wood with a white enamel finish, and it comes from India. Mango wood has a warm, even tone that sits well under pale paint, and you can see it along the edges, where a thin line of natural wood outlines the figure. Because it is a natural material, small variations in the edging and finish from piece to piece are to be expected.

Where she sits best

Her flat, upright form suits a shelf, a mantel, a windowsill or the top of a bookcase, where the white shows well against darker wood or a painted wall. She sits comfortably beside candles, small plants or framed photographs, and the pale finish fits easily into a Scandinavian, coastal or farmhouse-style room. Wipe her with a dry, soft cloth to keep the enamel clean, and avoid soaking the wood.

The language of angels

Angels have long been given as quiet gestures of comfort, congratulation and remembrance, appearing in everything from Byzantine mosaics to Victorian keepsakes. In a modern home they are as often chosen for their gentle, calming presence as for any devotional meaning. This one keeps to the simplest form of the idea: a halo, a pair of wings, and a figure that asks nothing of the room.

Size and details

She stands 15 cm tall, small enough for a bedside table, a desk or a crowded shelf. She is made of mango wood with a white enamel finish, with a jute twine bow and two wooden beads at the neck, and is made in India.

A thoughtful small gift

Small, light in colour and easy to place, she suits a housewarming, a new-baby gift, a get-well gesture or a remembrance. She also works as a seasonal piece around Christmas, though her plain white finish keeps her at home on the shelf all year round.

Common questions

What is she made from?
Mango wood with a white enamel finish, with a jute twine bow and two small wooden beads at the neck.

How tall is she?
15 cm.

Will the wood show through the white?
Along the edges, yes: a thin line of natural mango wood outlines the figure, which adds warmth to the white.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0756/8307/0266/files/small-mango-wood-halo-angel-white-enamel-cover.png?v=1793513203
