stars-sign-mini-bowl-incense-stick-holder-aries
Stars Sign Mini Bowl & Incense Stick Holder - Aries

A small round bowl of warm mango wood, its inner dish a deep midnight blue scattered with fine gold dots, and at the centre a ram with curling horns drawn in gold line. Around it, a ring of twelve segments holds the zodiac constellations. It sits on a shelf or bedside table as a little piece of night sky, and it works hard: it holds a stick of incense, and it keeps your rings and earrings close at hand.

What you'll notice

The ram of Aries sits at the heart of the dish, drawn in delicate gold on a cream circle, with constellation lines running around it in the same gold.

The blue centre is glossy and dotted with tiny gold stars, so it catches lamplight and candlelight and glints softly.

The mango wood rim is dark and honey-toned, with visible grain and natural variation in colour from one bowl to the next.

The sides are thick and sturdy, so it feels solid in the hand and sits steadily on a surface.

It is a small piece for small things: rings, earrings, a favourite pendant, or a stick of incense, all within easy reach.

Mango wood and a lacquered finish

The bowl is made of mango wood, a dense hardwood with a warm, varied grain, finished with a glossy lacquer that deepens the colour of the wood and makes the painted centre shine. Because the grain is natural, no two bowls look quite the same. Wipe it clean with a dry or barely damp cloth and keep it away from standing water, which wood and lacquer do not enjoy.

Using it for incense

Stand an incense stick upright in the bowl so the ash can fall into the dish. Incense sticks usually burn for roughly thirty to sixty minutes, though this varies from stick to stick, so check the listing for the sticks you choose. Light the tip, let it flame for a few seconds, then blow it out so it glows and releases its smoke. Burn in a ventilated space and never leave it unattended. The wood and lacquer can mark with heat, so let the stick burn down fully and let any ash cool before you tip it out.

Aries and the stars

In Western astrology, Aries is the ram, the first sign of the zodiac, traditionally associated with beginnings, energy and a direct way of going at things. Those born under it are often called bold and quick to start. The ram on this bowl carries that story, which makes it a small piece of personal symbolism to keep on a desk or by the bed.

What you get

One Aries mini bowl, as pictured. Incense sticks are not included. The bowl is also made in the other zodiac signs, so you can choose the one that is yours, or someone else's.

A personal gift

This is an easy present for anyone who knows their star sign and enjoys a bit of ritual at home. Few small gifts do two jobs so neatly, holding incense for the evening and the day's jewellery in the morning, and few feel so personal.

Common questions

Can I use it for things other than incense?
Yes. It makes a pretty dish for rings, earrings and other small treasures, as long as the lacquer is kept dry and away from heat.

Does it come in other star signs?
It does. Each sign has its own animal or symbol at the centre, so you can pick the one that suits you or the person you are buying for.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0756/8307/0266/files/stars-sign-mini-bowl-incense-stick-holder-aries-cover.png?v=1792130893
