stars-sign-mini-bowl-incense-stick-holder-leo
Stars Sign Mini Bowl & Incense Stick Holder - Leo

A small round bowl in warm mango wood, its centre a midnight-blue sky scattered with gold dots and a gilded lion's head at the heart. It sits on a desk, dresser or bedside table and does two quiet jobs: it holds an incense stick while it burns, and it keeps rings and earrings together the rest of the time.

What you'll notice

The lion is drawn in fine gold line on a pale ring, surrounded by the twelve constellations of the zodiac, so Leo sits at the centre of a whole sky.

Tiny gold dots across the deep blue edge read like stars when the light catches them.

The glossy lacquer on the artwork picks up window light and lamplight, so the bowl looks different at different times of day.

The mango wood rim and sides show visible grain in honey and darker brown, which frames the blue and gold neatly.

The shallow dish suits small treasures: rings, earrings, a favourite pendant, a few loose charms.

Mango wood and lacquer

Mango wood is prized for its varied grain, so the tone and pattern of each bowl will differ a little from the one in the photograph. The wood is finished with a glossy lacquer, which gives the surface a smooth, polished feel and a soft shine. The celestial artwork sits in the centre of the dish, framed by the wood.

Using it as an incense holder

Rest the plain end of an incense stick in the bowl and light the tip. Incense sticks usually burn for roughly half an hour to an hour, though this varies from stick to stick. Burn in a ventilated room, never leave it unattended, and let the ash fall in the bowl. When it has cooled, wipe the dish with a dry cloth and the bowl is ready to hold your jewellery again. Keep it away from water and prolonged damp, which wood and lacquer dislike.

Leo in the stars

In Western astrology, Leo is the sign of the lion, traditionally linked with warmth, confidence and a generous, sociable spirit. People born under the sign often enjoy pieces that carry a personal meaning, which is what makes a bowl like this a thoughtful keepsake rather than a purely practical one. The wider zodiac wheel around the lion adds a gentle nod to the other eleven signs.

What's included

One Leo mini bowl and incense stick holder, in mango wood with a glossy lacquered finish. Incense sticks are not included. Please check the listing for size before ordering, as each piece is a little different in tone and grain.

A personal gift

This suits anyone with a Leo birthday, or someone who likes small, useful objects with a story behind them. It works as a birthday present, a housewarming gift, or a treat for yourself, and it is easy to wrap and post.

Common questions

Can I use it for things other than incense?
Yes. It works as a small dish for rings, earrings and other small treasures, as well as holding an incense stick.

Will mine look exactly like the photograph?
Very close, but mango wood has its own grain and colour variation, so the tone of the wood will differ slightly from bowl to bowl.

How should I clean it?
Once the ash has cooled, wipe it with a dry or barely damp cloth and dry it straight away.
