It is a small wooden ornament for a shelf or sideboard, where the soft colour and pale wood bring a calm, gentle note to a room.

The pose

The figure sits cross-legged with the back straight and the arms resting out to the sides, drawn in simple, rounded forms.

It is cut from the lotus itself, so the figure sits within the open petals, the way a seated figure sits within a bloom.

Seen from behind, it feels more like a moment of stillness than a portrait, with no face to hold your attention.

The pale, softly mottled wood of the figure stands out against the pink around it.

Mango wood and enamel

The figure and base are mango wood, with the lotus petals finished in dusty pink enamel. The enamel gives a smooth, even colour, while the figure keeps the lighter tones and fine grain of the natural wood, with darker marks in the carved folds of the legs and arms. Because it is a natural material, the grain and colour will vary a little from piece to piece. The petals have a fine gilded edge where they meet the open spaces.

Placement ideas

The base is a plain block of wood with the word 'Love' burnt into the front, so it stands on its own without needing a stand or support. It sits comfortably on a bookshelf, a bedside table, a window ledge or a dressing table. The pink is soft enough to sit with neutrals, whites and natural timber, and the open petals mean the figure reads clearly even from across a room.

Craft and origin

This piece is made in India from mango wood, a timber long used there for carved decorative objects. The lotus is a motif found across many traditions, often associated with rising cleanly from still water, and it is offered here as a graceful shape rather than as a promise of any effect. The word 'Love' on the base keeps the piece simple and personal.

Common questions

Does it stand without support?
Yes. The figure and lotus are mounted on a flat wooden base, so it stands freely on a level surface.

Will every piece look identical?
Not exactly. The wood grain and tone differ naturally from one piece to the next, so yours will have its own markings.

How should I clean it?
Wipe it gently with a dry or barely damp cloth, and keep it away from standing water, as untreated wood does not like prolonged damp.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0756/8307/0266/files/wooden-yoga-lady-lotus-flower-dusty-pink-love-cover.png?v=1793599684
