Da dove proviene il patchouli
Il patchouli è la foglia di una pianta frondosa della famiglia della menta, coltivata in tutta l’Asia. Le foglie vengono essiccate prima di estrarne il profumo, ed è proprio l’essiccazione a far emergere la nota intensa, legnosa e leggermente muschiata per cui la fragranza è conosciuta. Nell’incenso è apprezzato da tempo proprio per questa profondità terrosa, che lo rende così adatto ai momenti senza fretta e di riflessione. I colori verde e giallo della confezione, decorata con delicate forme di foglie, richiamano la pianta da cui nasce il profumo.

HEM è un noto marchio di incensi con radici in India, e questi bastoncini sono prodotti in India. La confezione esagonale, che contiene i bastoncini in una scatola alta e sottile, è il formato caratteristico di HEM, facile da riporre in un cassetto, su uno scaffale o accanto al portaincenso.
Come bruciarlo
Accendi la punta, lasciala bruciare per alcuni secondi, poi spegnila soffiando in modo che l’estremità resti incandescente e inizi a salire un sottile filo di fumo. Inserisci l’estremità semplice in un portaincenso resistente al calore o in un raccoglicenere e sistemalo su una superficie stabile, lontano da qualsiasi oggetto infiammabile. Bastoncini di questo tipo bruciano solitamente per un periodo compreso tra trenta minuti e un’ora, anche se la durata varia da un prodotto all’altro: controlla quindi la scheda di questa confezione. Brucia l’incenso in una stanza ventilata e non lasciarlo mai incustodito.
