Mitä huomaat

- Helmet ovat sileäksi kiillotetut, joten ne tuntuvat aluksi viileiltä ja lämpenevät nopeasti ihoa vasten.
- Jokainen helmi on erilainen: niissä on pilvimäisiä laikkuja, hienoja juovia ja sävyvaihteluita. Mitkään kaksi rannekorua eivät ole täysin samanlaisia.
- 6 mm:n helmet tekevät rannekorusta riittävän herkän yksin käytettäväksi tai helposti kellon tai muiden rannekorujen rinnalle ilman, että ranne tuntuu ahtaalta.
Kiveä puuvillanyöriin pujotettuna
Helmet ovat luonnonjalokiveä, ja ne on pujotettu puuvillanyöriin. Sammalakaatti on kalsedonin eli hienorakeisen kvartsin muoto, ja sen vihreä sävy on juuri sellainen, joka monille tulee mieleen sammalesta ja lehdistä. Koska kuviot ovat luonnollisia, sävyissä ja kuvioinnissa esiintyy vaihtelua. Tätä vaihtelua kannattaa pitää osana kiveä, ei virheenä.
Käyttö ja hoito
Rannekorun pituus on 17 cm ja helmien halkaisija 6 mm. Pidä se erossa vedestä, hajuvedestä ja kodin puhdistusaineista ja riisu se ennen uimista, tiskaamista tai nukkumaanmenoa. Pyyhi helmet pehmeällä, kuivalla liinalla. Säilytä rannekoru suorana tai löyhästi kiepillä, jotta nyöri ei veny tai taitu. Päivittäisessä käytössä nyöri pehmenee ja venyy vähitellen, joten pieni huolenpito päivän alussa ja lopussa auttaa sitä kestämään.
Kivi perinteessä
Sammalakaattia on pitkään käytetty luonnonmaailmaan liittyvänä kivenä. Perinteisesti siihen yhdistetään kasvu, kärsivällisyys ja vakaa yhteys luontoon, ja monet käyttävät sitä puutarhojen, metsien ja hitaampien päivien rauhallisena muistoesineenä. Kuten kaikissa tällaisissa merkityksissä, kyse on henkilökohtaisesta tulkinnasta ja rituaalista: pienestä lähellä kannettavasta muistutuksesta, ei mistään, mitä kivi itsessään tekee.
