Szín/struktúra: túlnyomórészt sötétszürke majdnem feketéig világosabb erezetekkel és természetes márványos mintázattal; fényes, sima felület. Optika: labradoreszcencia – a leggyakoribb az irizáló kék, zöldek és finom arany árnyalatok jelennek meg mozgás közben. Átlátszóság: többnyire átlátszatlan, vékonyabb éleknél enyhe áttetszőség.
