Cosa sono le rudraksha
Le rudraksha sono i semi dell’Elaeocarpus ganitrus, un albero originario delle pendici dell’Himalaya e di alcune zone del Sud-est asiatico. Il nome deriva dal sanscrito: rudra (Shiva) e aksha (occhio). Da secoli i semi vengono infilati e indossati nelle tradizioni induiste e buddhiste, per la meditazione, la preghiera e la pratica quotidiana. Ogni seme presenta solchi naturali; il loro numero è chiamato mukhi (facce) e, nella tradizione, a ogni numero corrispondono associazioni diverse.
Al polso
Le perline aderiscono al polso e sono lisce, con il legno caldo a contatto con la pelle. L’elastico permette di infilare facilmente il bracciale. Il Buddha d’argento è piccolo e piatto: un dettaglio decorativo, non un peso. Le rudraksha scure come queste sono spesso semi più vecchi o invecchiati intenzionalmente; il colore si intensifica con l’uso e il contatto con gli oli naturali della pelle.
