Le parfum bergamote et palo santo

De la tradition péruvienne du palo santo
Palo santo signifie « bois sacré » en espagnol, un nom souvent associé à son usage ancien comme bois aromatique dans les rituels et brûlages domestiques d’Amérique du Sud. Cet encens vient du Pérou et porte cette idée sous une forme simple de bâtonnet, associant la chaleur familière du bois à la fraîcheur citronnée de la bergamote. Il est préférable de le considérer comme un rituel olfactif : une manière de faire une pause, de marquer un moment, et de laisser la pièce s’imprégner d’une atmosphère plus douce.
Allumage et combustion
Placez l’extrémité non enduite du bâton d’encens dans un porte-encens ou un cendrier résistant à la chaleur. Allumez la pointe enduite, laissez-la flamber brièvement, puis soufflez pour éteindre la flamme afin que l’extrémité rougeoyante dégage un filet constant de fumée.
Brûlez dans un espace ventilé, loin des rideaux, des animaux domestiques et des enfants. Ne laissez jamais un encens allumé sans surveillance, et laissez les cendres refroidir complètement avant de les nettoyer.
