Tuoksu on pehmeä ja samettinen — muskuksinen, lämmin ja kevyesti puuterinen — viipyilevä kuin kuiskaus, ei aalto. Jokaisella syvän indigonsinisellä kartiolla on mattapintainen, samettinen pinta ja pieni kolo pohjassa; asetettuna takaisinkulkevalle polttimelle savu kerääntyy ja laskeutuu sitten pyörteilevinä virtauksina, kerääntyen sumun lailla vesiputouksen juurelle.
