Stamford is fast becoming my go-to brand for incense, having got a bit bored with the Nag Champa sticks I've been burning for what seems like forever.I usually opt for the 'Stamford Black' range, having a real liking for the spicy Werewolf's Bite if I'm honest. However, this add-on deal at £2.67 for a whole variety box tempted me into trying something different. I'm glad I did.Stamford doesn't seem to suffer from the sickly sweet syndrome that some other floral incense brands do. I think it is because they are not over-perfumed. Whatever, these hit the mark in being subtle, floral and with just a hint of spice.Great for relaxation after a hard day at work. If only my office building didn't have smoke alarms everywhere (courtesy of the smoking ban) then I could enjoy these while at the keyboard. When I worked from home, for twenty years, I always burned incense and it helped my concentration. Now I can't I really rather miss it...Anyway, back to the review. Typical of Stamford these are not too smoky, and very long burning. Great value, and something of a no-brainer purchase at this price.

I really like these incense sticks. They're neither too faint nor too stuffy smelling. Each of the six packs has eight incense sticks, which burn for about three minutes each. I don't use aerosol air fresheners as they make me sneeze, but these incense sticks smell pleasant and they freshen up the room nicely. I also like the Gothic aura they project and, as a practicing Wiccan, I love to light them when I'm meditating - it's very relaxing to listen to whale song whilst inhaling the different scents!Regarding safety - incense sticks usually burn in a relatively straight line and the ash will fall neatly onto an incense stick holder, but they can infrequently burn at a sharp angle, causing the hot ash to spill onto the surface that the holder is on. Protect the table surface with a ceramic tile or plate and never leave a flame unattended.
