Was Rudraksha sind
Rudraksha sind die getrockneten Samen von Elaeocarpus ganitrus, einem Laubbaum, der einmal im Jahr Früchte trägt. Die Samen sind hart und leicht und von tiefen senkrechten Rillen geprägt, den sogenannten Mukhi: Gesichtern. Traditionell werden sie zu Malas für Japa (Mantrawiederholung) aufgefädelt oder als Erinnerung daran, zur Ruhe zurückzufinden, am Handgelenk oder Hals getragen. Das Holz dunkelt mit der Zeit nach und erhält durch das Tragen einen leichten Glanz.
So sitzt das Armband
Das Armband misst flach liegend 7 cm im Durchmesser und ist mit zwei Perlenreihen 2 cm breit. Es lässt sich dehnen, um über die Hand zu gleiten, und liegt eng am Handgelenk an. Die Perlen bleiben unbehandelt (ohne Beize und Lack), sodass Farbe und Struktur von Samen zu Samen leicht variieren, wie es in der Natur der Fall ist.
