Soita käsin — kämmenet, sormet ja käden reunat tuottavat erilaisia sävyjä (basso, sävy ja läpsäytys). Pidä vuohennahkainen kalvo kuivana. Kuivissa ilmastoissa kevyt kosteutus silloin tällöin auttaa estämään halkeilua. Säilytä pystyasennossa tai kyljellään, poissa suorasta lämmöstä ja kosteudesta.
