Čo je Lepidolite?

Lepidolite is a lithium-rich mica: a silicate mineral that splits into thin, flexible, slightly greasy scales. The name comes from the Greek lepis, scale, and lithos, stone, a reference to its habit of peeling into layered sheets. The lilac to pinkish-purple colour comes from traces of manganese; deeper specimens lean towards mauve and grey-violet.

Significant deposits were found in the nineteenth century, particularly in Brazil and the former Czechoslovakia, and for a time lepidolite was the world's primary source of lithium: the same element now familiar from batteries and certain medications. The stone was collected by mineralogists and kept in cabinets long before it entered the crystal tradition's vocabulary.

That tradition places lepidolite in the territory of the unsettled or transitional: whatever that means in your own life. It is linked with the heart, third eye and crown chakras, paired with Libra and Pisces in the zodiac, and given the elements water and air. In our catalogue it lives on the calm and sleep shelves, alongside lavender, amethyst and chamomile.

The suggestion here is practical rather than mystical: give the stone a place in a small, repeated practice. A lepidolite chip beside the bed, held briefly each evening while you name the thing you need for the night ahead (rest, patience, the morning you are hoping for) and then let it keep the note. The stone does not change anything by itself. But it gives the attention somewhere honest to return to, and that is no small thing.

Below: our catalogue's lepidolite: tumbled stones, palm pieces, jewellery and spheres in the lilac range the stone is known for.
