Das Spielen des Kashaka
Halte eine Kugel in der Handfläche und lasse die andere um sie herum bewegen, um einen Rhythmus aus dem Zusammenspiel von Holz, Schnur und Hand zu erzeugen. Beginne langsam. Der Klang gibt sofortiges Feedback, sodass das Muster etwas wird, das du hörst, fühlst und allmählich verstehst.
Wenn es nicht benutzt wird, halte es trocken und fern von längerer Feuchtigkeit. Wische die Oberfläche mit einem weichen, trockenen Tuch ab und vermeide scharfes Ziehen an der Schnur.
Woher das Instrument stammt
Kashaka-ähnliche Shaker gehören zu einer größeren Familie westafrikanischer Perkussionsinstrumente, die an verschiedenen Orten auch unter Namen wie Asalato oder Patica bekannt sind. Traditionell wurden gepaarte Shaker für Rhythmus, Geschichtenerzählen, Lobgesang und soziale Musik verwendet, wobei der Spieler sowohl Schüttel- als auch Klackmuster mit einem kleinen Instrument erzeugt. Dieses Stück wird in Indonesien gefertigt und bringt die Idee der fließenden Handperkussion in eine dekorative Holzform für moderne Praxis und Präsentation.
