Een wierookstokje is een dun bamboestokje bedekt met een pasta van hout, hars en geur. Steek de punt aan, laat de vlam uitgaan, en het gloeit langzaam een halfuur of langer en geeft de kamer geur.

De geur

De maker
Deze stokjes worden gemaakt door HEM, een van de bekendste namen in Indiase wierook, en komen uit India, waar wierook deel uitmaakt van het dagelijks leven, van huisaltaren tot rustige hoekjes die bedoeld zijn voor bezinning. De zeshoekige doos is het kenmerkende formaat van HEM en houdt de stokjes beschermd en gemakkelijk op te bergen.
Hoe je de wierook brandt
Steek de gecoate punt aan, laat deze enkele seconden vlam vatten en blaas de vlam vervolgens uit, zodat het stokje blijft gloeien en rook begint af te geven. Plaats het onbewerkte uiteinde in een hittebestendige houder of asvanger. Stokjes als deze branden meestal ongeveer een half uur tot een uur, hoewel dit per stokje verschilt; controleer daarom de productdetails. Brand wierook in een geventileerde ruimte, houd het uit de buurt van brandbare materialen en laat het nooit onbeheerd achter.
