Plaats het onbewerkte uiteinde van een stokje in een hittebestendige wierookhouder of asvanger. Steek het gecoate uiteinde aan, laat het kort vlam vatten en blaas de vlam vervolgens uit, zodat het uiteinde blijft gloeien en geurige rook verspreidt.
Brand de wierook in een geventileerde ruimte, uit de buurt van gordijnen, huisdieren en tocht. Laat brandende wierook nooit onbeheerd achter en laat de as en houder afkoelen voordat je ze opruimt.
