Deze maraca is met de hand gemaakt in Indonesië van rotan en heeft daardoor een natuurlijk, tastbaar karakter in plaats van een fabrieksmatig perfecte afwerking. Het oppervlak toont verschillende kleurlagen en zichtbaar lijnwerk, waardoor kleine variaties deel uitmaken van zijn charme.
Hoe hij aanvoelt tijdens het spelen
Houd het handvat losjes vast en schud vanuit je pols voor een gelijkmatige puls. Korte bewegingen creëren strakkere ritmische patronen, terwijl bredere bewegingen een opener, feestelijker geluid geven.
Gebruik hem op zichzelf om de maat aan te geven, of combineer hem met trommels, klankschalen, geklap of zang. Het is ritmische percussie, geen gestemd melodisch instrument.

Bewaar hem op een droge plek en veeg hem na gebruik af met een zachte doek. Laat hem niet vallen en bewaar hem niet op vochtige plaatsen, want rammelaars zijn afgesloten instrumenten en het geluid hangt ervan af dat de klankkast intact blijft.
