Steek het uiteinde aan, laat de vlam kort vangen en blaas het dan uit zodat de bundel gaat smeulen. Houd het boven een hittebestendige schaal of schelp tijdens gebruik en zorg dat het uit de buurt blijft van loszittende stoffen, tocht en brandbare materialen.
Om te doven, druk je het gloeiende uiteinde in zand of as totdat het volledig uit is.

De botanicals zijn eenvoudig en expressief: Himalayasalie, gedroogde rozenblaadjes en hele kaneel, met de hand gemaakt in India tot twee omwikkelde bundels.
