Munt, blaadjes en gerolde groene thee
- Gunpowder groene thee geeft de melange zijn ronde, licht grassige basis.

Hoe je het goed zet
Gebruik 2-3 g per 200 ml water op 70-80°C, en laat het 3-4 minuten trekken. Groene thee wordt het beste gezet onder het kookpunt, omdat zachtere hitte helpt de frisse smaak te behouden en voorkomt dat er te veel bitterheid vrijkomt.
Zeef de thee na het trekken en geniet er puur van, of maak het eigen met de toevoegingen die je gewoonlijk bij muntthee gebruikt. Voor een lichtere kop gebruik je de lagere hoeveelheid of verkort je de trektijd iets.
Een heldere pauze in de dag
Dit is het soort thee dat je zet als je iets helder, geurigs en makkelijk terug te vinden wilt. De munt voelt levendig aan in de neus, terwijl de groene thee de kop meer structuur geeft dan een simpele kruidige muntthee. Het past bij een rustige bureaumpauze, een pot die je deelt na het eten, of een langzaam moment met een boek terwijl de bladeren zich ontvouwen.
Chinese groene thee met een muntthee-geest
Gunpowder groene thee wordt sterk geassocieerd met China, waar de bladeren tot kleine bolletjes worden gerold die in water open gaan. Muntthee heeft een eigen belangrijke plek in de Noord-Afrikaanse gastvrijheid, vooral in de Marokkaanse theeceremonie, waar groene thee en munt samen worden gezet voor een heldere, aromatische kop.
