Kersenbloesem: een zachte, lichte lentebloem. Met de hand gerolde masalastokjes, gemaakt in Jaipur, twaalf in een doos.

Hoe het wordt gemaakt
Dit zijn wierookstokjes in Vedische stijl, gemaakt volgens een methode waarbij natuurlijke harsen, houtpoeder en geurende oliën om een dunne bamboekern worden gerold. Het resultaat is een stokje dat gelijkmatig brandt en de geur langzaam verspreidt, zonder de scherpte van pure houtskoolstokjes of de overheersende, zware geur van synthetische stokjes die in geurstoffen zijn gedoopt.
Brandinstructies
Steek het omhulde uiteinde aan, laat het enkele seconden vlammen en blaas het dan uit, zodat het blijft gloeien. Zet het kale uiteinde in een hittebestendige houder of op een asvanger en laat het branden op een plek waar wat lucht beweegt. Laat het nooit onbeheerd achter en zorg dat de as niet terechtkomt op iets waar gemakkelijk vlekken op komen.
Uit India
De Vedische lijn dankt haar naam aan de oude Vedische teksten, waarin wierook wordt beschreven als onderdeel van dagelijkse rituelen en meditatie. Toch passen deze stokjes net zo goed in een rustige kamer zonder enige ceremonie.
Wat je krijgt
Een hoge kartonnen koker met de wierookstokjes, die rechtop staat en zo in een lade past of op een plank kan staan. Elk stokje is slank, ongeveer zo dik als een lucifer, met een lichte coating die pas geurt wanneer je het aansteekt.
