Koel, transparant glas met een lichte zeeschuimtint nestelt zich in warm Balinees gamal hout, als water dat zijn oever vindt. De witgewassen voet laat zachte tan- en bruine nerf doorschemeren; het vaasje rijst hoog en helder op, eindigend in een zachte, uitwaaierende rand. 🌊🪵

Met de hand gevormd in Bali, wordt het glas geblazen en, terwijl het nog warm is, rust het over het hout totdat het perfect in de contouren nestelt. Het onderste gedeelte stroomt in een gesmolten curve die de textuur van de wortels wiegt; erboven blijft het lichaam glad en langgerekt, vangt licht op het glanzende oppervlak. Kleine luchtbellen en subtiele rimpelingen maken deel uit van het maakproces, en elke houten vorm draagt knopen, groeven en golvende randen die zijn eigen verhaal vertellen.

Gerecycled glas en duurzaam gewonnen gamal hout komen hier samen in een kalme, functionele sculptuur—geworteld, helder en stilletjes expressief. In veel Balinese werkplaatsen eert deze aanpak eerst wat het materiaal biedt, werkend met handgereedschap en geduld om de vorm te laten verschijnen.

Plaats het waar licht kan spelen door de bleke aqua tint—op een console, lage plank of een rustig hoekje. Gebruik als vaas voor een paar verse stelen of gedroogde grassen, of laat het leeg als een contemplatief stuk dat uitnodigt tot aanraking en het oog vertraagt. ✨🌿
