Een bleek, met de hand gevlochten touw rust licht in de palm, roodgestipt en klaar om te gloeien. In Nepal is touwwierook een eeuwenoude ambacht: gemalen kruiden en harsen worden verzameld, verpakt in dun lokta-papier en gedraaid tot zachte koorden die laag en gelijkmatig branden. 🌿

De geur is zacht en aards—houtachtig, harsachtig en subtiel kruidig—en zorgt voor een rustige helderheid in de kamer. Mengsels bevatten vaak Himalaya-botanicals zoals jeneverbes, ceder, salhars en spijkernard, verweven om een kalme, contemplatieve sfeer te creëren. De verzilverde brander met gegraveerde mandalabloem voegt een bedachtzame toets toe; de mandala wordt algemeen gezien als een symbool van harmonie, eenheid en heelheid, en wordt vaak in meditatieruimtes bewaard als focus voor geconcentreerde aandacht. De gebogen haak van de standaard houdt het touw rechtop boven een vlakke, veelhoekige schaal met een opstaande rand voor as.

🔥 Hoe te branden

Houd het roodgestipte uiteinde vast en steek het aan tot er een kleine vlam verschijnt.
Laat het een paar seconden smeulen, waai het dan voorzichtig uit tot een gloeiende kool.
Hang het touw aan de haak van de brander of leg het op een hittebestendig schaaltje, zorg ervoor dat de as veilig op het bakje valt.
Gebruik in een geventileerde ruimte. Houd uit de buurt van tocht, kinderen en huisdieren, en laat het nooit onbeheerd achter.
