El palo santo, «madera sagrada» en español, es una madera aromática de Sudamérica que se quema desde hace mucho tiempo por su humo dulce y balsámico. El sándalo ocupa un lugar aún más antiguo en la elaboración de incienso en la India, apreciado por su calidez suave, lechosa y persistente. Al combinar ambos se obtiene una mezcla con más profundidad que cualquiera de los dos por separado. HEM es una reconocida casa india de incienso, y estas varillas se fabrican en la India siguiendo la tradición masala.
Cómo quemarlo
Estas varillas suelen arder entre treinta minutos y una hora, aunque varía de un producto a otro. Enciende la punta, deja que arda durante unos segundos y luego apágala soplando para que quede incandescente y libere su humo. Coloca el extremo sin recubrimiento en un soporte resistente al calor, con un recipiente para cenizas debajo. Quémalo en una habitación ventilada y nunca lo dejes sin vigilancia.
El momento del ritual
Por naturaleza, este es un incienso para la tarde o la noche. Es ideal para meditar, practicar yoga, relajarte tranquilamente después del trabajo o simplemente aportar a la sala un aroma más intenso y amaderado.
