In hindoeïstische en boeddhistische tradities ondersteunt een mala van 108 kralen japa — het gestaag tellen van mantra's of gebeden die ritme aan de adem en focus aan de geest geven. Witte kwarts, gewaardeerd in verschillende culturen om zijn schone, heldere uitstraling, wordt vaak geassocieerd met helderheid en reflectie. Hier nodigen de halfdoorzichtige gloed en gepolijste oppervlakte uit tot een kalme, aandachtige aanraking.
