Tussen je vingers, een zachte, met de hand gevlochten wierookspiraal — licht beige, met een zachte spiraal en taps toelopende uiteinden — draagt de stilte van Himalayaanse ceder. Deze touwstijl heeft diepe wortels in Nepal, waar dhup wordt gekoesterd in huizen, stoepa's en tempels, vooral binnen Newar-gemeenschappen. 🌲🏔️

Zorgvuldig met de hand gerold en gedraaid, stopt elk touw natuurlijke Himalayaanse kruiden en harsen in met de hand voorbereide rijstpapier, en vlecht ze tot een langzame, gelijkmatige verbranding. De geur opent warm en harsachtig, met schone, houtachtige cedernoten en een droge, balsemachtige zoetheid. Het brengt rust in de kamer met een gegronde kalmte en een duidelijke, respectvolle aanwezigheid. Hoe te branden: Steek de punt aan, laat een kleine vlam vangen, waai dan voorzichtig uit tot een gloeiende kool. Leg het touw op een asbed of in een vuurvaste metalen of stenen schaal. Deze traditionele vorm produceert veel rook — gebruik één touw tegelijk en brand in een goed geventileerde ruimte. Laat nooit onbeheerd achter en houd uit de buurt van kinderen, huisdieren en tocht. 🔥
