Zachte, gebroken witte strengen die met de hand tot kleine touwtjes zijn gedraaid — een traditionele Nepalese manier om wierook met zorg en geduld te maken. Touwwierook heeft diepe wortels in de Himalaya, waar poedervormige botanische ingrediënten met de hand worden gerold en gevlochten tot compacte spiralen die gestaag smeulen en geur dicht bij de aarde verspreiden. 🌿

De geur opent helder en fris: citroengras met citrusgroene tonen, als citroenschil die over vers gesneden bladeren wordt geveegd. Het voelt opbeurend en verhelderend terwijl de zachte rook zacht en geaard blijft. In veel Zuid- en Himalaya-Aziatische tradities wordt citroengras geassocieerd met frisheid, vernieuwing en het verwelkomen van de dag — een eenvoudige, respectvolle manier om een kamer of een rustige hoek te verfrissen. 🍋

Hoe te branden: Steek het uiteinde van een touwtje aan totdat het vlam vat, waai of blaas dan zachtjes de vlam uit en laat het smeulen. Leg het op een vuurvaste schaal (een klein bedje zand of een hittebestendige kom werkt goed) met goede ventilatie. Laat brandende wierook nooit onbeheerd achter. Elk touwtje is ongeveer 11 cm en brandt ongeveer 15 minuten; een pak bevat 50 touwtjes, ideaal voor korte, bewuste pauzes of om in zachte rondes te stapelen. 🔥
