- Cada ladrillo está prensado con polvo de madera de pino aglutinado con resina natural de guggal, por lo que mantiene su forma y arde de manera constante en lugar de desmenuzarse.
- Se mantienen de pie por sí solos o pueden colocarse tumbados en un recipiente y, una vez encendidos por el borde, la brasa avanza lentamente por el ladrillo.
- El humo es más abundante y visible que el del incienso en varilla, por lo que resulta ideal para momentos en los que quieres que la habitación se sienta diferente: meditación, una tarde tranquila o para purificar el aire después de un día largo.
Resina de guggal y madera de pino
El guggal es la resina del árbol Commiphora wightii, originario de las regiones secas de la India. Se ha quemado en rituales ayurvédicos y védicos durante miles de años, valorado por su cualidad reconfortante y purificadora en ceremonias en templos y oraciones en el hogar. La resina es de color marrón dorado y aromática al calentarse; aquí se mezcla con polvo de madera de pino para formar un ladrillo que arde lentamente y libera el aroma sin necesidad de carbón.
Cómo quemarlos
Coloca un ladrillo sobre un recipiente o quemador resistente al calor, de cerámica, piedra o metal; nunca de madera o vidrio. Enciende una esquina con una cerilla, deja que la llama prenda durante unos segundos y después apágala soplando para que el ladrillo se consuma lentamente. Apágalo presionando la brasa hasta extinguirla en arena o dejando que se consuma por completo; nunca lo mojes con agua, ya que eso dificulta volver a encenderlo. Deja la ventana entreabierta si la habitación es pequeña.
