El aroma
- La cumarina se percibe primero, con un dulzor suave, parecido al heno y un tenue matiz de almendra; después aparece la vainilla y suaviza las notas más penetrantes hasta lograr un aroma redondo y delicado.
- Yara yara, un aroma suave en polvo de flor de azahar, aporta una nota de fondo a los tonos más dulces, para que la mezcla nunca resulte empalagosa.
- El humo es suave y perdura sin resultar abrumador, por lo que es fácil encenderlo en una habitación pequeña o mientras lees.
- Tiene la riqueza de un incienso masala, con polvos aromáticos enrollados sobre un núcleo de bambú, en lugar del carácter más ligero y fugaz del incienso japonés en varilla.
Enrollado a mano en India
El incienso Satya se fabrica en Bangalore mediante el método masala tradicional: se mezclan resinas, maderas y fragancias en polvo con un aglutinante, se enrollan a mano sobre varillas finas de bambú y se dejan secar. El resultado es una varilla más gruesa, de combustión más lenta y con un aroma más intenso que el incienso bañado o el que tiene un núcleo de carbón. Cada varilla se enrolla a mano, por lo que puede variar ligeramente en grosor y en la forma de arder.
Cómo quemarlo
Enciende la punta recubierta, deja que prenda durante unos segundos y luego apaga la llama para que la punta quede incandescente. Coloca el extremo sin recubrimiento en un portaincienso o apóyalo en un recogecenizas y deja una ventana un poco abierta: el incienso masala produce más humo que las variedades japonesas más ligeras. Suele arder entre treinta y cuarenta y cinco minutos, aunque depende del grosor de cada varilla. No lo dejes nunca sin vigilancia.
El motivo del Árbol de la Vida
El Árbol de la Vida aparece en muchas culturas, desde el Yggdrasil nórdico hasta el Etz Chaim cabalístico, como símbolo de crecimiento, conexión y ciclos de renovación. Satya usa este nombre para evocar el arraigo y la idea de volver a un estado de equilibrio y conexión con la tierra, aunque la fragancia en sí es una mezcla masala moderna, no una fórmula histórica.
