El aroma
- Verde y reconfortante, con protagonismo de hierbas frescas, no de flores ni especias. Huele a natural, no a perfume.
- Durante los primeros minutos se percibe una nota algo más penetrante, alcanforada, que se suaviza a medida que se consume la varilla y deja un aroma más tenue, con matices de musgo.
- Es ideal para una habitación que ya transmite calma y quieres que siga así, más que para una que necesita transformarse.
- El aroma permanece suavemente después de que se consuma la varilla, sin impregnarse en los tejidos.
Elaboración
Son varillas de incienso tradicionales de estilo masala, elaboradas en la India. Su recubrimiento es más grueso que el de las varillas japonesas, lo que produce una combustión más intensa y terrosa. La línea Vedic se inclina por mezclas botánicas en lugar de aromas florales de una sola nota, y esta varilla es fiel a ese estilo.
Cómo encenderlo
Enciende la punta recubierta, deja que arda unos segundos y luego apágala de un soplo para que quede incandescente y empiece a desprender humo. Coloca el extremo sin recubrimiento en un portaincienso o apóyalo en un recogecenizas, y deja una ventana entreabierta. No lo dejes nunca sin supervisión y mantenlo alejado de las corrientes de aire y de cualquier material inflamable.
La tradición védica
El nombre «Vedic» hace referencia a los antiguos textos de la India y a las tradiciones rituales que surgieron de ellos, en las que el incienso formaba parte de la devoción diaria, la meditación y la conmemoración del tiempo sagrado. Quemar hierbas y resinas era tanto una ofrenda como una forma de preparar la mente para la quietud. Esta línea actual bebe de ese legado y combina hierbas como podría haberse hecho para el incienso de los templos, aunque también queda igual de bien en un escritorio o una mesita de noche que en una sala de oración.
