About this product

Why the pig shape works
  • The playful outline gives simple chalk lettering more character, especially in kitchens, cafés and deli-style displays.
  • It suits short, changeable messages: today’s dish, a family note, a table name, or a seasonal greeting.
  • The chalkboard format keeps things relaxed. A slightly imperfect hand-written line feels warmer than a printed sign.
  • It brings back the easy nostalgia of school boards, bistro menus and shop-window specials.
  • The dark writing surface makes pale or coloured chalk stand out clearly.
Where it belongs

Place it where messages change often: a kitchen wall, a child’s bedroom door, a pantry corner, a pub counter, or a small restaurant display. The pig motif feels especially at home around food, from recipe notes to cheerful table signs.

Plywood with a chalkboard face

The sign is made from plywood, giving it a light, practical feel for everyday indoor display. The charm is in the contrast: a simple animal silhouette, a dark chalkboard surface, and whatever words you choose to add by hand.

Writing, cleaning and care

Use chalk for temporary messages, then refresh the wording when the mood or occasion changes. Wipe gently between uses and keep it away from rain, steam and prolonged damp, as plywood is best kept dry.

Chalkboards in everyday life

Chalkboard signs have long belonged to places where the message changes with the day, from classroom walls to café menus and market counters. Their appeal is partly practical and partly human. The soft scratch of chalk, the visible handwriting, and the freedom to rub out and begin again all make the object feel alive rather than fixed. In a home, that might mean a shopping reminder or a birthday note. In a small business, it can become a simple, friendly way to speak to people passing by.
