What it is

These are stones close to how they come out of the ground: rough pieces, clusters of points growing together, geodes split open to show the crystals inside, and specimens of a single mineral. Some are coated, dyed or man made, and we say so on each page.

Why people choose it

  • The shape it grew No cutting or polishing, so every piece is different.
  • A piece for the room A geode or a cluster holds a corner of a shelf on its own.
  • Several pieces in one Rough bags and specimen sets give you many stones to arrange.
  • Told as it is Natural, dyed, coated or man made is stated on every page.

How to use it

  1. 1

Place a cluster or a geode where daylight reaches it

  2. 2

Keep rough pieces in a bowl, or lay them around a candle or a plant

  3. 3

Turn a specimen now and then to see a new face

Care: Dust with a soft dry brush. Points and edges break easily, so lift the piece by its base. Keep coated and dyed pieces out of water and strong sun to protect the finish.

5 reviews of this piece

Some of these points are ideal for the use I have in mind for them many thanks great quality 10*/10*

Decent but not what I expected

About half of the pieces were heavily fractured and fell apart as I was washing them. They are coated in some kind of redsidue of polish which was built up in the cracks. They look like they have been tumbled a bit but not polished properly, also there a lot of them have been hand shaped to points…

What can I say about these Amethyst Points that I have not said before. They are great for the use I have them for. If only a few other Companies trained their Staff so well life would be so much simpler.

These are really Beautiful Stones to carry with you.

  • ★★★★★ P.

As rough points go these are the best I have ever come across in over 60 years ( Yes I mean 60 years). I use a lot of them. Once again 100 / 100 as 5* are just not enough.

About this product

Violet points and natural texture
  • The pieces show purple amethyst running through pale, cloudy quartz, with some tips deeper in colour than others.
  • Rough edges, broken planes, and uneven points give the lot a more earthy feel than polished stones.
  • Some pieces have a frosted, mineral-dusted look, which softens the shine and adds visual depth.
  • The mix works well scattered in a dish, arranged around candles, or placed beside other mineral pieces.
  • Each point has its own shape and colour zoning, so the group feels natural rather than matched.
Amethyst in geological context

Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz, coloured by trace elements and natural irradiation within the crystal structure. Its rough form shows the mineral’s growth more plainly than a polished tumble stone: angular points, cloudy sections, and fractured surfaces all remain visible. In crystal tradition, amethyst has long been associated with quiet reflection, spiritual awareness, and the crown chakra, often used as a focus stone for meditation or intention-setting.

How to display and handle it

Place the points in a shallow bowl, on a shelf, or as part of a mineral arrangement where the purple tones can catch natural light. Handle with care, as rough tips and edges can chip if knocked against harder surfaces.

To clean, dust gently with a soft dry cloth. Avoid prolonged strong sunlight, as amethyst can fade over time, and keep the pieces away from harsh household cleaners.

Common questions

Will every piece look the same?
No. These are rough crystal points, so colour, shape, clarity, and surface texture naturally vary from piece to piece.
Are these polished?
No. They are rough amethyst points, so the surfaces are irregular rather than smoothed or tumbled.
