What it is

An incense cone is incense pressed into a small cone. Light the tip, blow out the flame and it smoulders from the top down, scenting the room for about twenty minutes. A backflow cone has a hole in its base, so the smoke falls instead of rising.

Why people choose it

  • A scent in twenty minutes One cone scents a room quickly, then it is done.
  • Smoke that falls On a backflow burner the smoke runs down like water, slow and quiet to watch.
  • Easy to keep a few Woods, resins, flowers and spices: a pack of each for different evenings.
  • Small and tidy The ash stays in the holder as a small grey cone.

How to use it

  1. 1

Stand the cone on a heat-safe holder

  2. 2

Light the tip, let it catch, then blow out the flame

  3. 3

Let it smoulder down; a backflow cone goes on a backflow burner

Care: Use a heat-safe holder. Never leave a lit cone unattended. Ventilate the room.

    Amazing!

The scent is amazing, brought for my son to have in his room and it fills the whole house with the smell!

    One major flaw

Burns well, smells lovely. burns for about half an hour. however, should be burnt with a open window as after a time it ends up smelling like cigarette smoke. Beyond that probably one of my favourite scents from the company excluding the discontinued Immortality.

Items arrived and none damaged, smell lovely, well worthy of 5 stars!! I would recommend to all!

Great smell. Favourite of the range

my absolute favourite smell from the stanford range. i buy the sticks regularly from shops and markets but only see the cones online. i recommend using an incense holder instead of the metal plate provided as it looks as though it will be very hot to the touch after use

    Incense cones review

These are really nice cone which give a very pleasant aroma. It isn't the fault of Stamford, no-one would dispatch their orders in that way, but I do think that they should look into different ways to pack the cones as some of my previous orders have arrived damage, and beyond use.

About this product

A deep Dragon’s Blood atmosphere
  • The fragrance has a rich, resinous character, made for moments when you want the room to feel more settled and intimate.
  • Because the scent comes from a cone, it feels concentrated at first, then softens as the smoke spreads.
  • The brown cones sit neatly in the small round holder, so the ritual stays simple and contained.
  • The white box, printed with dragon artwork, gives the pack a bold, old-apothecary feel.
  • Use it before guests arrive, beside an open book, or as a quiet threshold between work and evening.
The cone and holder

Each cone is made from a special incense paste, shaped to stand upright on its flat base. The holder gives the ember a stable place to rest while the ash gathers below.

How to burn it well

Place one cone flat base down on the holder, set the holder on a heat-resistant surface, and light the tip. Let the flame catch briefly, then blow it out so the tip glows and releases fragrance.

Burn in a well-ventilated room, away from draughts, fabrics, pets and children. Allow the holder and ash to cool fully before touching or cleaning.

Dragon’s Blood in incense culture

Dragon’s Blood is a traditional incense name linked to deep red plant resins used in fragrance, ritual goods and dyeing across different regions. In modern incense, the name is often used for a dark, warm, resin-inspired scent rather than a claim about the exact botanical material. Here, it gives the cones their mood: smoky, enclosed and dramatic, suited to a home ritual that feels simple rather than showy.

Pack details

This incense cones pack contains 15 Dragon’s Blood incense cones. The cones are made in India.

A thoughtful small gift

A good choice for someone who enjoys incense, evening rituals or scenting a room. The holder makes it easy to give as a complete little set.

Common questions

Do incense cones smell stronger than sticks?
They often feel more concentrated at the start because the whole cone burns down from the tip. Keep the room ventilated and use one cone at a time.
