Design and silhouette
The barrel shape is compact without feeling cramped, a cylindrical duffel packs more efficiently than a rectangular bag, with no wasted corner space. Material and construction
Made from cotton canvas, which is a material with a long association with working bags, originally used for sailors' and soldiers' kit in the seventeenth century, when the town of Duffel in Belgium gave both the cloth and the bag their name. Canvas duffels tend to soften and settle with use, moulding gently to whatever you carry, and developing a lived-in character over time. This one is made in India, where canvas bag-making has a deep craft tradition.
Carrying comfort
The adjustable strap lets you set the drop to suit your height and how you like to carry. Dual top handles give you a second option when you're loading it into a locker or lifting it overhead. At 394 g empty, it adds very little weight of its own.
