These are hand-rolled coated incense sticks on a bamboo core, made in India. The format is simple and familiar: a fragrant coated section for burning, with the plain end placed into a suitable holder.

Light the coated tip, let it flame briefly, then blow the flame out so the end glows. Place the plain end into a heat-resistant incense holder or ash catcher, keeping it away from draughts, fabrics and anything flammable.
