Sun Goddess Tarot Tray with Card Holder

Before a reading there is usually a small pause: the tools are laid out, the cards come out, the table settles. This tarot tray is built around that pause. A shallow frame of natural mango wood holds a row of compartments for the small things a reader keeps close, with a sleeve on one side for the cards themselves, so everything has a place before you begin.

Beautiful artwork in gold foil on a black background

These cards are absolutely stunning — black and gold, amazing quality, gorgeous artwork. Everyone who's seen them has commented on them. The book that comes with the card set is really helpful, showing you each card and what it's all about. I bought these as a birthday present for my daughter and I…

Large and lovely for in person readings.

Such lovely cards. They feel fantastic in your hands and the designs are gorgeous. I didn't think about how easy they'd be to film though — the gold is so reflective that filming isn't ideal for me, but for in person use they're great. They're quite large though, about 1cm bigger in both length and…

    Good quality cards

As a professional tarot reader I go through plenty of cards. These cards are stunning though not for a beginner. When you start learning the cards you need images to relate to so that you learn what they mean to you before you read leaflets and books. The minor arcana can be tricky to decipher if…

Very nice deck but hard to shuffle

The cards are very pretty, and have a premium feel. The only downside is that the cards are a bit big. This combined with the rubbery feel of the cards makes the deck somewhat difficult to shuffle.

About this product

What you'll notice
  • The wood is warm and honey-toned, with soft grain running in bands across the base and dividers.
  • On the right, a slim slot holds the deck behind a panel printed with a sleeping sun face, ringed by rays, crescent moons, small planets and stars on a deep charcoal sky.
  • The sun's closed eyes give the panel a hushed, night-sky stillness against the bright wood beside it.
  • The rest of the tray is divided into open compartments of different sizes, so a crystal, a pendulum and a few dried herbs can each sit apart instead of rolling together.
  • A small notch at the top of the card slot makes the deck easy to slide in and out.
Natural mango wood

The tray is crafted from natural mango wood, a close-grained timber that sits smooth under the hand and carries a gentle, even colour. In South Asian craft traditions mango wood is a familiar choice for household and ritual objects. Because it is a natural material, grain and tone differ from piece to piece, so yours will have its own pattern of lines and shading.

Layout on the table

Four upright dividers run across the tray, with two short crosspieces splitting the middle compartments into upper and lower spaces. The result is a mix of tall and narrow pockets and broader open ones, which suits a reader who works with several different tools at once. Some people keep a working deck in the sleeve and the rest of their kit in the compartments; others set out only what the day's reading calls for and leave the remaining pockets empty. It is an organising tool first, and how you arrange it is entirely your own practice.

Care

Wipe the wood with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from standing water and damp, as untreated timber does not like prolonged moisture. Wooden pieces are not sealed against humidity, so store it somewhere dry. Handle the printed panel gently and avoid scrubbing it.

A considered gift

For a tarot reader who has outgrown a drawer of loose stones and a deck in a pouch, this is a quietly useful present. The sun-and-moon panel gives it a presence on an altar, a shelf or a reading table, and the plain wood keeps it calm beside any deck.

Common questions

What can I keep in the compartments?
The tray is designed for the small items readers work with, such as crystals, herbs, pendulums and other small ritual pieces, each in its own divided space.
Is it for display or daily use?
Either. It works as a working organiser on a reading table and as a decorative piece on a shelf or altar when not in use.
Will every piece look identical?
No. It is made from natural wood, so grain and colour vary a little from one tray to the next.
