What is in the box
- Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia): soft, floral and herbaceous, the familiar scent of linen cupboards and evening baths.
- Tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia): fresh, sharp and green, with a camphor-like edge.
- Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus): bright, clean and airy.
- Peppermint: cool, sweet and minty.
- Ylang ylang I: rich, heady and floral.
- Virginian cedarwood: dry and woody, often compared to the smell of pencil shavings.
The box
The box is made from mango wood. It is made to hold six 10 ml bottles, so the oils stand together in one place rather than rolling about in a drawer. It stays useful once a bottle is finished, because any 10 ml bottle fits in its place.
How to use the oils
A few drops in a diffuser or an oil burner will scent a room. For a bath or a massage, blend the oil into a carrier oil first. Essential oils are concentrated: always dilute them before they touch skin, patch test first, keep them away from the eyes and out of reach of children, and seek expert advice before use in pregnancy. Keep the bottles, and any room you are scenting, well away from cats and dogs.
