Each candle is made from paraffin wax and over-dipped with colour for its metallic red surface. Paraffin gives a steady, familiar taper candle form, while the coloured outer layer brings the decorative mood.

The candles are designed for a clean, even flame with no smoke or dripping when used correctly. Keep them upright in a suitable holder, away from draughts and anything flammable.

Stand each taper in a heat-proof candle holder or on a heat-proof plate before lighting. Trim the wick to about 5 mm, and never leave a burning candle unattended.

Let the wax cool fully before moving the candle or holder. Store unused tapers flat or upright in a cool, dry place, away from strong heat that could soften the wax.
