About this product
What gives it its old-world charm
- The apple shape softens the look, making it feel more like an object collected over time than a plain storage box.
- Aged finishing gives the surface a timeworn character, with small variations that suit the vintage style.
- Brass fittings and handles add a warm metallic note against the painted decorative finish.
- It works well for jewellery, keepsakes, small notes, or as a more thoughtful way to present a gift.
- Placed on a bedside table, mantelpiece, or dressing table, it adds detail without needing much around it.
MDF with aged decorative finishing
The box is made from MDF and finished in a vintage-inspired style. It is designed as a replica antique, so it should be read as decorative rather than as a genuine period piece. Small differences in design, size and finish are part of this range’s character.
Using it for everyday treasures
Use it for the small things you like to keep close: rings, earrings, charms, folded notes, or a meaningful token from a trip. It also makes gift wrapping feel more personal, turning the box itself into part of the present.
Where the style comes from
This piece draws on the romance of early twentieth-century decorative boxes, when storage objects were often made to be seen as well as used. The 1920s influence gives it a gently nostalgic mood, with aged surfaces and brass-toned details echoing the look of travel chests, dressing-table boxes and old shop finds. It is not an antique, and it is not meant to be flawless. The appeal sits in the softened finish, the small irregularities, and the sense of a story already begun.
Care for the aged finish
Keep it indoors and wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid prolonged damp or harsh cleaning products, as MDF and decorative finishes are best treated gently.

★★★★★ SHAMTAM customerBrilliant-looking boxes.
These caught my eye as I was wanting a small storage box, but with a bit of style to it. These look just like, 'pirate' style boxes which I love. The wood is solid and well treated, the rivets and straps are real (they don't actually serve a strapping purpose but look great, the hinge is good with a supporting bar to s

★★★★★ SHAMTAM customerBeautiful but clasps are delicate
These boxes are beautiful. There's a tiny padlock. I use the large box for medication and it's perfectly sized to hold them. The smaller one I use for keys and bits and bobs. They really are beautiful. The smaller box's clasp has broken but it's not worth the hassle of returning.

★★★★★ SHAMTAM customerGood quality, more on the medium side.
Great gift set nice box and ribbon, card and pull tissue paper included. Box is more on the medium side, not very deep so wouldn't be able to stack multiple things to keep in mind. But nice presentation and nice box. Good quality.
