Brass Door Knocker – Ram Head

• The ram motif gives the entrance a sense of strength and presence before the door is even opened.
• Brass brings warmth to painted wood, dark doors and natural timber, catching the light without feeling polished-flat.
• The act of knocking feels deliberate and human, a quieter alternative to the quick buzz of a bell.
• As the brass ages, it will develop a softer surface tone, making the piece feel more settled into the door over time.
• It suits homes that favour characterful details: old cottages, townhouses, studios, garden gates and considered front doors.

Made from brass in Indonesia, this door knocker has the warm, traditional look associated with classic door furniture. Brass naturally changes with handling, weather and time, so the surface will mellow rather than stay exactly as it first arrives.

Choose fixings to suit your door material and the way you want it mounted. If in doubt, ask a hardware shop or installer for the right screws for timber, composite or metal doors.

The sound of any door knocker depends on the door itself, especially its thickness, material and how firmly it is struck. On the right door, it gives a more grounded, personal arrival than a bell: hand to metal, sound through wood, a pause before welcome.

Let the brass develop its own patina, or wipe it occasionally with a soft, dry cloth to keep the surface clearer. Avoid harsh cleaners, which can strip away the tone that makes brass door furniture feel lived-in.

This piece weighs 280 g. Individual sizes may vary slightly, which is natural for this type of decorative door furniture.

It makes a thoughtful gift for someone restoring a door, moving into a new home, or adding a distinctive detail to an entrance. The ram motif gives it more personality than plain hardware, while the brass keeps it timeless.
