About this product
A small wooden house for incense: a six-sided base topped with a pyramid roof that lifts on a hinge. Set a lit cone on the brass cup inside, close the roof, and the smoke drifts out through the cut-outs at the top.
It is made by hand from wood in Saharanpur, northern India, and finished with a small brass inlay on its sides. Each piece is cut and inlaid by hand, so the grain and the symbol vary from one house to the next. About 15 cm tall and 5 cm across, it sits easily on a shelf, a windowsill or a home altar.
Does the roof get warm? Yes, a little, while the cone burns. Let it cool before you lift it.
How do I clean it? Once it is cool, lift the roof, tip out the ash and wipe the inside with a dry cloth.
