About this product
A small ritual
- Clear the surface first: take everything off and wipe it down. That is half of the change.
- Group the three mushrooms to one side and stand the candle on a plate behind them. Set the calcite tower apart so the eye travels, and lay the stones along the grain where the sun reaches.
- At dusk, light one cone in the tallest mushroom, then the candle. Keep flame and smoke clear of curtains, and put both out before you leave the room.
What's inside
- Three mango-wood mushrooms, 10, 9 and 8 cm, each with a small brass plate on the cap to hold a cone.
- A box of 12 'Sweet Frankincense' incense cones by Stamford, plant based and rolled by hand.
- One ivory pillar candle, 60 x 120 mm, about 38 hours of burning.
- One calcite tower, about 9 to 11 cm, raw on one side and polished on the others: grey and smoky brown, no two alike.
- A bag of 6 large picture jasper tumble stones, banded in ochre, russet, brown and grey.
The pieces arrive together in one parcel. They are not gift-wrapped.
Calcite is the 3 on the scale of hardness Friedrich Mohs drew up in 1812: soft enough for a steel blade to mark it. Jasper sits near 7, so keep the tower apart from the stones and it keeps its polish.
