About this product
The pleasure of opening it
- The twin heart design gives it a gentle, affectionate mood, suited to a dressing table, memory shelf or quiet corner.
- The puzzle mechanism invites slow attention. Each piece has its own order, turning opening the box into a small ritual.
- The wood brings natural warmth rather than a glossy, over-polished feel, so it sits easily with candles, crystals, books and jewellery.
- The hidden centre compartment is made for something small and meaningful, such as a ring, charm, folded message or tiny token.
- It works as décor even when closed, with the secret element kept for the person who knows how to open it.
Saman wood with a puzzle construction
This box is made from Saman wood in Indonesia. Its opening follows the idea of a wooden puzzle box: the pieces must be moved in the right sequence before the centre compartment is revealed.
It is a tactile object rather than a simple lift-lid box. The interest is in the figuring-out, the feel of the wood in the hand, and the quiet satisfaction of discovering the order.
How to use and care for it
Use it for small keepsakes, a private note, or a little gift you want to present with more thought. It is decorative and playful, not a security box, so keep valuables somewhere more secure.
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Keep it away from prolonged damp, and avoid forcing the pieces if they resist. Work slowly, as the mechanism is part of the charm.
A puzzle-box moment
Puzzle boxes have a long place in domestic craft, from Indian wooden puzzles to other traditions of sequential opening boxes. Their appeal is simple and enduring: they ask the hands and mind to slow down. This version keeps that idea in a romantic form, with twin hearts and a hidden centre space that turns a small object into a more personal reveal.

★★★★★ SHAMTAM customerBrilliant-looking boxes.
These caught my eye as I was wanting a small storage box, but with a bit of style to it. These look just like, 'pirate' style boxes which I love. The wood is solid and well treated, the rivets and straps are real (they don't actually serve a strapping purpose but look great, the hinge is good with a supporting bar to s

★★★★★ SHAMTAM customerBeautiful but clasps are delicate
These boxes are beautiful. There's a tiny padlock. I use the large box for medication and it's perfectly sized to hold them. The smaller one I use for keys and bits and bobs. They really are beautiful. The smaller box's clasp has broken but it's not worth the hassle of returning.

★★★★★ SHAMTAM customerGood quality, more on the medium side.
Great gift set nice box and ribbon, card and pull tissue paper included. Box is more on the medium side, not very deep so wouldn't be able to stack multiple things to keep in mind. But nice presentation and nice box. Good quality.
