About this product
What catches the eye
- The maroon enamel has a smooth, slightly lustrous finish that catches light without being showy.
- The mushroom design on the lid is rendered in the enamel itself, giving it a flat, graphic quality rather than a raised or applied look.
- The mango wood body shows through at the edges and base, warm-toned against the darker lacquer.
- The proportions are compact and considered: wide enough to be useful, shallow enough to stack or tuck away easily.
Mango wood and enamel
The box is made from mango wood, a dense, close-grained timber grown widely across India and long used in decorative woodwork for its stability and warm colour. The enamel coating is applied over the wood surface, giving the lid its flat, painted finish and protecting the design beneath it. At 223 g, it has a satisfying solidity in the hand.
Inside and in use
The interior is a single open space, 10 cm square and 4.2 cm deep, enough for rings, earrings, a watch, or a small collection of keepsakes. The lift-off lid sits flush when closed. It is the kind of box that earns its place on a surface by being both useful and pleasant to look at.
Care
Wipe the exterior with a dry or barely damp cloth. Keep it away from prolonged moisture, which can lift enamel over time, and out of direct sunlight to preserve the depth of the maroon lacquer.

★★★★★ SHAMTAM customerBrilliant-looking boxes.
These caught my eye as I was wanting a small storage box, but with a bit of style to it. These look just like, 'pirate' style boxes which I love. The wood is solid and well treated, the rivets and straps are real (they don't actually serve a strapping purpose but look great, the hinge is good with a supporting bar to s

★★★★★ SHAMTAM customerBeautiful but clasps are delicate
These boxes are beautiful. There's a tiny padlock. I use the large box for medication and it's perfectly sized to hold them. The smaller one I use for keys and bits and bobs. They really are beautiful. The smaller box's clasp has broken but it's not worth the hassle of returning.

★★★★★ SHAMTAM customerGood quality, more on the medium side.
Great gift set nice box and ribbon, card and pull tissue paper included. Box is more on the medium side, not very deep so wouldn't be able to stack multiple things to keep in mind. But nice presentation and nice box. Good quality.
