Recycled Molten Glass Bowl on Driftwood
Amber-toned glass pools over natural root wood, catching the light like still water held in an organic frame. This molten glass bowl is part sculpture, part vessel, made for a table, shelf or quiet corner that needs one grounded, tactile focal point. The contrast is the pleasure: smooth, rounded glass against the twists, hollows and grain of wood.

About this product
The amber glow and weathered grain
- The glass has a warm golden tint, with a thick, rounded rim that feels visually steady and substantial.
- The wooden base keeps its natural knots, ridges and hollows, giving the piece an earthy, found-object character.
- Light gathers in the curved bowl, then deepens where the glass meets the darker contours of the root.
- Small bubbles or light surface marks may appear in the glass, part of its handmade nature rather than a flaw.
- It works well where you want one sculptural object instead of several small decorative pieces.
Recycled glass shaped over Gamal root
The glass is hand-blown, then placed while still hot over a piece of Gamal root so it settles to the wood’s individual shape. It is made in Indonesia using recycled glass and sustainable Gamal wood, with hand tools in the traditional Balinese way. Because the wood is natural and the glass is shaped to suit it, each piece has its own fit, curve and character.
Styling it at home
Use it as a decorative glass vessel for dry arrangements, keepsakes or simply as a sculptural centrepiece. It suits organic-modern, coastal and slow-living interiors, especially beside natural fibres, stone, linen or warm-toned wood.
Caring for glass and wood
Wipe the glass gently with a soft cloth and dust the wooden base dry. Keep the wood away from prolonged damp, and use a liner for anything wet, oily or strongly coloured.
Presence and details
This is a single glass bowl on a Gamal wood base, weighing 1100 g. The exact shape will vary because the glass is formed over natural root wood.
A gift with quiet presence
A thoughtful choice for someone who loves natural materials, handmade home décor or objects with a slower, more tactile feeling. It makes a strong housewarming gift, especially for a home built around wood, light and texture.
