A chunky ashtray and candle holder in molten glass on a natural wood base, approximately 23cm. Each piece is made by pouring molten recycled glass over a piece of driftwood or natural timber, creating a completely unique form as the glass flows and cools around the wood's shape.

What You Get

A one-of-a-kind piece — no two are alike because the glass flows differently every time it meets the wood.
Recycled glass gives each piece a slightly different hue and translucency.
The natural wood base provides a warm, organic contrast to the smooth glass.

Glass and Wood, Handmade

Recycled molten glass poured over natural wood. The glass cools and solidifies around the wood, bonding the two materials. Each piece varies in glass colour (clear to pale green or blue), shape, and the way the glass pools and flows. Approximate height: 23cm.

Placement and Care

Display on a table, shelf, mantelpiece, or windowsill where light can pass through the glass. Can hold water for a single flower stem. Hand wash the glass gently — do not submerge the wood base. Dry thoroughly.

Can I put flowers and water in this?
The glass portion can hold water for a small flower or stem. Drain and dry after use to protect the wood.

Is the glass sharp anywhere?
The edges are smoothed during the cooling process, but handle with care as with any glass object.

Will the wood rot over time?
