What it is

Wax melts are small pieces of scented wax warmed in an oil burner until they melt and release their fragrance. Simmering granules are warmed the same way and need no oil or water. Each page says how many melts are in the pack, the wax they are made from and, where we know it, how long one melt scents a room.

Why people choose it

  • No wick to trim The flame stays under the dish, so the melt has no wick to trim.
  • The wax is named Soy, palm or paraffin, as the label states.
  • Many evenings One melt scents a room for hours, and a box holds several.

How to use it

  1. 1

Place one melt, or a spoonful of granules, in the dish of a burner

  2. 2

    Light the tealight underneath

  3. 3

Blow it out when the room smells right; the wax sets again as it cools

Care: Never leave a lit burner unattended and keep it away from children and pets. Let the wax cool and set before you move the burner.

Great addition to my anti-rodent strategy

Rodents hate peppermint, citronella and eucalyptus among others, and I bought these hoping they would be a further deterrent in some of the rooms of an old victorian house thats been split into flats. Time will tell but regardless, these are a lovely fresh smell, even non-melted. I shaved some with…

About this product

Lavender softened by rosemary
  • Lavender brings a gentle floral character, familiar and softly rounded rather than sugary.
  • Rosemary adds a greener edge, giving the blend a fresh, herb-garden clarity.
  • The scent feels well suited to bedrooms, sitting rooms and slow end-of-day routines.
  • As the wax warms, the fragrance diffuses gradually through the space rather than flaring at once.
  • A good choice when you want scent in the room without lighting a scented candle.
The small ritual of melting

Choose a heart, place it in the dish of a wax or oil burner, then let gentle heat release the fragrance. The wax melts with no flame touching it, making the ritual feel slower and quieter than incense.

Soy wax, essential oils and a glass jar

The melts are made with soy wax and pure essential oils, presented in glass. The heart shape gives each piece a softer, more giftable feel, and makes it easy to use a small amount at a time.

How to use lavender and rosemary wax melts

Place one or two hearts in the dish of a wax burner or electric warmer. Use an unscented tealight if your burner needs one, and never add water to the wax.

When the scent has faded, allow the wax to cool and harden before removing it. Keep the jar closed between uses to help preserve the fragrance.

Herbs with a quiet domestic history

Lavender and rosemary both have long associations with the home, the garden and the linen cupboard. Lavender is often linked with restfulness in European herbal tradition, while rosemary has been associated with memory, freshness and clarity. Here, they are brought together as a room fragrance rather than a remedy: floral, green and familiar, with the kind of scent that makes a space feel more cared for.

Size and details

The jar has a listed weight of 135 g and contains around 14 to 16 wax hearts, with approximately 85 g of wax. Made in China as part of the Aroma Wax Melts range.

A gentle gift for a calmer room

A thoughtful choice for someone who enjoys home fragrance, evening rituals or herbal scents. It suits a housewarming, a small thank-you, or a self-care gift that feels useful as well as beautiful.

Common questions

Can I use these in an electric wax warmer?
Yes. Wax melts can be used in an electric warmer or in the dish of a burner with an unscented tealight beneath.
Do wax melts burn away like a candle?
No. The wax melts and releases fragrance, but it does not burn down in the same way as candle wax. Replace the wax once the scent has faded.
Are these smoky like incense?
No. Wax melts release fragrance through warmed wax, so they are a good option when you want scent without incense smoke.
