The candles are made with soybean wax, a renewable wax source, blended with fragrance oil for a Victorian peony scent. Soy wax is known for a slower, cleaner burn than many paraffin wax candles, while the wooden wick gives a steadier visual presence than a traditional cotton wick.

Each candle is held in a round ceramic jar. Once the wax has finished and the vessel has cooled completely, the jar can be cleaned and reused for small everyday things: jewellery by the bed, hair pins on a dressing table, or matches beside another candle.

Place the candle on a heat-proof holder or plate before lighting. Trim the wooden wick to about 5 mm before each burn, and keep the wax pool clear of spent wick or debris.

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from children, pets and anything flammable, and leave at least 10 cm between burning candles.
