The glass, caught in motion

Hand-blown glass over Gamal wood
The vessel is hand-blown from recycled glass and shaped directly over a reclaimed Gamal wood base. Because the glass follows the individual contours of the wood, each piece has its own line, balance and meeting point.
The base shows warm brown grain, knots and carved-looking hollows, giving the clear glass a grounded, earthy contrast. It is refined, but not uniform.
Living with a sculptural vase
Place it where the side light can move through the glass, such as a windowsill, sideboard or open shelf. It suits a minimal stem, a dried arrangement, or simply being left empty as a natural statement piece.
Lift it with both hands, supporting the wood and the glass together. Wipe the glass gently with a soft cloth, and keep the wooden base away from prolonged damp.
Root wood as found form
Root wood brings a different kind of beauty from polished timber. Its appeal lies in the uneven surface, the hollows, the darker grain and the sense that the shape came first from nature, then from the maker’s response to it. In the spirit of minimal arrangements, including Japanese ikebana, a vessel like this does not need to be filled heavily. A single branch, a few dried stems or a clear space around it can let the form breathe.
