Excellent candles, as always, from this wonderful company. Never a breakage, never a wrong colour, always professional with prompt delivery and SUCH bargain prices & glorious shades: we particularly love black, sand, pumpkin, jade and the silver/gold options, when they're available. Amazing! haha xx

★★★★★ S.A small candle with a bit of Christmas meaning behind it
I got these Bolsius red pillar candles specifically for Christmas Eve, to place one in the window as part of the Irish window candle tradition. It's a simple thing, but it adds a really nice, quiet atmosphere and makes the evening feel a bit more meaningful. The candles themselves are solid a nice…

★★★★★ A.Great value
Great quality candles, these already have the holes at the base, making them easy to place on your holders, watch those sizes though! These were smaller than I wanted , but that was my measuring error, but I did actually need this size elsewhere, great value whichever you purchase though

Left one to burn, just out of sheer curiosity, and got 3 days and 2 nights out of one. Impressed. Expensive, but worth it. No dripping, spitting, or major smoking. On my repeat list .

About this product
The look in candlelight
- The navy colour feels composed and evening-ready, especially against brass, clear glass or pale ceramic holders.
- A smooth over-dipped finish gives the outside a clean, even depth of colour.
- The long taper form draws the eye upwards, adding elegance without crowding the table.
- White wicks and rounded ends keep the look simple, classic and easy to style.
- Use them for winter dinners, quiet celebrations, or any evening that deserves a softer pace.
Paraffin wax with a clean flame
These candles are made from paraffin wax and over-dipped with navy colour. They are designed as non-drip dinner candles and burn with a tall, clean flame for approximately 8 hours per candle, provided they are used upright in a suitable holder away from draughts.
How to light and care for them
Stand each candle securely in a heat-proof holder or on a heat-proof plate before lighting. Trim the wick to about 5 mm, keep the candle away from curtains, foliage and other flammable materials, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
Let the wax cool before moving the holder. If you are using several candles along a table, give each flame space to breathe.
Why tapers feel so timeless
The taper candle has stayed close to the dining table for centuries because its shape is practical as well as graceful. The narrowing form rises cleanly from a holder, leaving room for plates, glasses and conversation while bringing the flame above the level of the table. Candlelight has long marked moments of gathering, reflection and ceremony, from family meals to vigils and seasonal rituals. In navy blue, the mood is less formal than black and quieter than brighter jewel tones, making it a refined choice for evening settings and darker months.
